BEIJING, Nov. 1 -- Li Ming, the veteran midfielder for Chinese Super League
champions Dalian Shide, has announced his retirement from soccer.
According to the club, retirement celebrations will be held on Saturday
during the team's last match this season against the visiting Be
ijing Hyundai.
Li will officially retire after the Chinese Football Association Cup final
on November 20 as the league champions take on Cup defending champions Shandong
Luneng.
Li Ming, born in 1971, joined the club in 1994 and has been part of the
Dalian Dynasty that has claimed eight league championships in a span of 12
years.
The veteran midfielder didn't say what he would do after his retirement.
