　　"The city's calling card" of Qingdao will be distributed to tourists for free

　 　"Information of Qingdao's location, climate, general introduction, tourism resources and telephone numbers for supervising the efficiency of the government officials work, together with other service information, are to be printed on Qingdao maps as the Qingdao's calling card, which will be distributed freely to the tourists from both home and abroad." This is the news from the Qingdao government conference on external information publicizing work. This shows that Qingdao Government will start with small things to increase the fame of the Sailing City. 　　

　　In 2005, Qingdao Government is to supply Qingdao maps of this kind in the hotels, at the airport, and on long-distance buses into and away from the city. The city calling card will help tourists to get a general idea of Qingdao and give them a good impression as well. Meanwhile, based on the market operation, the Qingao Maps will be distributed for free. 　　

　　By seizing the opportunity of the Third "2008 Beijing" Olympic Cultural Festival in Qingdao, the city will host some competitions including "Sailing City---The Star for Greeting the Olympics" and "The Beauty of the Sailing City". At the same time, Qingdao will invite over a hundred journalists from the participating counties of Olympic Sailing Competition to visit Qingdao. Through the pens of the journalists, the fame of "Sailing City" Qingdao will be spread to every corner of the world.

　　In addition, one large-scale sculpture named Sailing City will be built on the cross of Haier Rd. and Donghai Rd. One museum with the same name will be constructed in Tiantai Stadium, the largest one of its kind in Qingdao.(Li Xiaohua )
